Moisturizer

Moisturizers are chemical agents with specific chemical structures that attract and hold water molecules. There are four categories of moisturizing agents that include emollients, humectants, occlusives, and protein rejuvenators. 

Examples of Moisturizers

  • Squalene (emollient)
  • Propylene glycol (humectant)
  • Beeswax (occlusive)
  • Collagen (protein rejuvenator)
