Hair Fixative

Hair fixatives are chemical agents that contain ionic or charged physical properties. These ionic charges interact with other chemicals as well as hair to produce the common stickiness experienced when using aerosol mousses, gels, and/or creams. This allows for controlled styling of hair to set hairstyles in place and prevent frizziness.

Examples of Hair Fixatives

  • Polyacrylamide
  • Polyethylene terephthalate
  • Shellac
