Dr. Jenny Murase is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and the Director of Medical Dermatology Consultative Services and Patch Testing for the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group. She is the Chair of the San Francisco Dermatological Society, an organization of 550 dermatologists in the Bay Area, for the past five years, and represents northern California on the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Advisory Board. She also serves on the executive board of the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the AAD Council on Education and Maintenance of Certification, and is the founding member of the AAD Women’s Health Expert Resource Group. She is a member of the AAD Atopic Dermatitis Expert Resource Group and was selected by the AAD Media Outreach to represent the academy by performing Satellite Media Tours and creating a nationally distributed video to educate the public on adult atopic dermatitis. She was also selected to serve as Chair for Pregnancy-Related Issues in Dermatology for the World Congress of Dermatology and as course director for twelve AAD meetings from 2009-2017, directing symposia on Women’s Health Therapeutics. She has performed over 100 lectures regionally, nationally, and internationally in the field of medical dermatology. Voted by the UCSF residents to be the best dermatology instructor among the adjunct clinical faculty in the department in 2010, Dr. Murase has authored or coauthored more than 80 book chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and actively reviews for ten major dermatology journals, including editorial board positions for the Journal of Clinical and Investigative Dermatology and the International Journal of Women's Dermatology.
