Review Process

I applied this product every evening immediately after I washed my face. I applied a thin layer over my entire face but avoided the delicate skin around my eyes. I waited about 5-10 minutes before I applied my moisturizer. If your skin is oily, you may not even need to apply a moisturizer on top, but I tend to become extra dry when I travel, so I followed it with the Skinbetter Interfuse® Treatment Cream.

My Experience

This product has a very light smell, but it is barely noticeable. The first 1-2 weeks that I used it, I could feel a slight tingle on my face for about 2-3 minutes. I had a tiny bit of peeling around my nose after about 4 days, but it resolved after 1 week. This product was not the slight bit irritating, which I was very excited about since most retinoid products make my skin red and irritated. This is my favorite evening treatment cream I have ever tried!

Perceived Effectiveness

I found this product extremely effective in several ways. First, after 1 week of use, I noticed my skin appeared much more radiant. I felt like I had an extra glow, and my skin felt tighter and lifted. An unexpected effect I noticed was that my acne blemishes cleared up. I often have tiny acne bumps all over my forehead, which went away entirely after 1 month of using this product. This product gently exfoliated my skin to reveal smoother, acne-free skin.

Product Comparison

This is by far my favorite retinoid treatment cream I have ever used. The special formulation of ethyl lactyl retinoate makes this product a winning combination of an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and a retinoid. It seemed to be extremely effective and not irritating.

Recommendation

I recommend applying this product in the evening because the retinoid can become deactivated by sunlight. I also recommend using a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day since your skin can be more sensitive to sunlight with this product.

Conclusion

This product might actually be my #1 favorite skin care product I have ever tried. It is extremely effective, and I do believe it transformed my skin after 1 month. It is great to see that this company conducted clinical studies to evaluate its efficacy and put a lot of care and work into creating a highly effective product.

Review Process

I applied the Skinbetter Alto Defense in the morning as the first step after washing my face. I applied it in a thin layer over my entire face and neck.

My Experience

This product feels extremely light. I was surprised by how little I needed to cover my entire face. It also absorbs into the skin very quickly, without leaving any sticky residue or heaviness.

Perceived Effectiveness

I found this product to be a great step in my morning routine. The product packaging directions say to use it AM and PM, but I wanted to separate it from my AlphaRet in order to really tell a difference between the two products. I feel that my skin has been significantly less red since I began using this product. I tend to be very sensitive to the sun, and this product seemed to offer more protection in combination with my daily sunscreen.

Product Comparison

In the past when I have used antioxidant serums, they have contained oils and other comedogenic ingredients that always lead to breakouts. However, this product did not make me break out at all. It is much lighter and less oily than other antioxidant serums and is my favorite of the many others that I have tried.

Recommendation

I recommend applying this product in the morning after cleansing and before you apply your moisturizer and sunscreen. This product also seems to make your makeup go on smoother!

Conclusion

The Alto Defense Serum is a fantastic and important step in anyone’s skin care routine. It contains 19 exciting antioxidants, including Camellia Sinensis leaf extract, Vitis Vinifera Seed Extract (grape seed extract), Cacao seed extract, and even Coffea Arabica Leaf Cell Extract (coffee extract). It also contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid to maintain a healthy skin barrier. This is a high-quality antioxidant product!

Review Process

I applied this product both morning and night in place of my other moisturizers. In the morning, I applied it after my Alto Defense Serum and before my sunscreen. In the evening I applied it after my AlphaRet. I always made sure to extend it down my neck as well.

My Experience

This product is luxurious! It is the perfect amount of creaminess for a moisturizer; not too thick and not too thin. It was very easy to spread over my skin, and it only required one pump to cover my entire face.

Perceived Effectiveness

I found this product to be extremely hydrating without being too heavy. It is not greasy and was the perfect base to apply my sunscreen and makeup over the top of it. I think this product really helped to keep my skin moisturized and with minimal peeling, even after using AlphaRet every day. Most importantly, my face felt tighter and fresher, and my makeup went on more easily.

Product Comparison

Somehow, Skinbetter Science managed to create the perfect moisturizer to act as both a night cream and a daily hydrator. In the past, I have had to use a heavier cream at night and lighter cream in the morning, but this product provides the best of both worlds.

Recommendation

I recommend using this product morning and night for ultimate hydration and skin smoothing benefits!

Conclusion

This is my new holy grail treatment cream. Not only did it make my face feel fresh and firm, but it provided amazing hydration without causing a breakout. It contains moisturizing glycerin, Macadamia glycerides, shea butter, and plentiful peptides that altogether did wonders for my face.
